My favorite Horizon memory? I simply value being a part of our clients’ lives. I feel great privilege and gratitude that our clients entrust me…to work closely with them and their families.

Shannon, Site Manager

Our Work

  • Horizon Project offers full-time and respite/part-time positions as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). DSPs are the heart of our work, directly supporting people. A typical day may include taking a client shopping, teaching them to prepare a meal, helping with medications and life skills, and engaging in recreation, like going to a park or doing a craft project. This work is typically done one-on-one or in small groups. DSPs serve in a variety of programs:
    • Residential Services and Supported Living are the largest Horizon Project programs
      • DSPs work with people where they live, providing daily support services, such as hygiene, daily life skills, food preparation, transportation, medication management, and recreation. Learn more about Residential Services and Supported Living
  • Employment Services offer opportunities for independence
    • Job Coaches support individuals on their path to employment, including identifying interests and abilities, skill-building, and coaching as they gain experience and transition into a workplace. Learn more about Employment Services
  • Community Living offers opportunities for skill building and socialization
    • DSPs support individuals who are not pursuing employment but enjoy socialization and education in our day programs, which also provides respite during the day for full-time caregivers and family members. Learn more about Day Services
